About Us

Hi! We are Aperture Arts, for ten plus years i've been selling handmade plugs and jewelry on Etsy. Aperture Arts was started by Rebecca after she started stretching her ears. Wanting specifically a pair of clock plugs she looked into making her own and using layers of resin and tunnels to create the first pair of our still bestselling clockwork plugs. After uploading them online people started showing genuine interest and Aperture Arts was born. Aperture Arts was named in a nod to the owners previous background and interest in photography, with the Aperture in this case being the light that passes through our plugs. 

 I've sold on Etsy for 10 years which at time of writing have seen over 7000 sales. We've incorporated a range of materials into our designs working with everything from polymer clay, sesashells, circuit boards and more recently silver. In 2021 we started learning silversmithing at Glasgows own VanillaInk, a not for profit organisation for the learning and development of jewellery making. This kickstarted our passion in silversmithing which is still a journey we're pursuing. 

 Jewellery has been my passion for a long time, while Aperture Arts started in my 20's I spent a lot of my childhood making basic wirewrapped rings and earrings out of paper. I'm exceptionally proud of the work I've put into this venture and hope to continue making unique one of a kind items for people to enjoy.
